Delphinium, the Latin name: Consolida ajacis (L.) Schur, is a perennial herb of the Dicotyledon, Ranunculus, Ranunculaceae, and Delphinium genus. Because of its unique flower shape, it resembles a swallow, hence its name. The flower diameter is about 4 cm, elegant in shape and attractive; 35 to 65 cm high, the stem is sparsely branched, and the leaves are palmately split. The raceme has 3-15 flowers, petal-like, blue or purple-blue, 1.5-1.8 cm long. Delphinium is a taproot plant with few fibrous roots.
